Natural resources governance
The multiplicity of demands towards natural resources is sometimes conflicting. Continuous and inclusive negotiation between multiple stakeholders is inevitable to find acceptable and sustainable ways to manage resources. This requires stakeholders’ participation with clear roles and responsibilities, a resource tenure that welcomes devolution of responsibilities in natural resource management and capable local resource users and managers who ensure equity in access and sustainability in management. This can become a reality with a committed and consistent support and by recognizing that governing natural resources has a complex human face, not only simply biological. IC for many years has been implementing NRM related programmes and projects. Several years of experiences enabled the organization and its partners to capitalize on the on-going debate and demands regarding governance of natural resources
